Assignment Timeline

The Assignment Timeline provides a clear, monthly view of all available and assigned assets, helping fleet managers efficiently manage driver assignments. This tool allows you to quickly assess which assets are in use and which are available, enabling smooth assignment and reassignment of drivers to assets.

1. Viewing the Timeline​

The timeline displays all assets, both assigned and available, in a monthly view. Each row represents an asset, with a timeline that shows whether the asset is currently assigned to a driver or available for assignment.

  • Assigned Assets: Highlighted with an assignment bar indicating the duration for which the asset is currently in use by a driver.
  • Available Assets: Indicated by empty slots, showing that the asset is free to be assigned.

2. Creating a New Assignment​

For any available asset, you can easily add a new assignment:

  • Select an Asset: Find an available asset (an asset without a driver assigned for the selected period).
  • Assign a Driver: Click on the empty slot to assign a driver to that asset.
  • Set Assignment Duration: Specify the start and end dates for the assignment to determine how long the driver will be using the asset.

This ensures that your fleet assets are efficiently utilized, reducing idle time and maximizing productivity.

3. Managing Existing Assignments​

The timeline also allows you to modify existing assignments:

  • Reassign Drivers: If a driver needs to switch to another asset, you can update the assignment by selecting the driver and choosing a new asset. This flexibility allows for quick changes in fleet operations.
  • Edit Assignment Duration: You can extend or shorten the duration of a driver's assignment by adjusting the end date.
  • End or Delete Assignments: If an assignment needs to be terminated early or removed, simply delete the assignment or end it prematurely.

The Assignment Timeline streamlines the process of assigning and managing drivers and assets by providing a comprehensive overview of all ongoing assignments. This monthly view helps managers make informed decisions about driver utilization, ensure asset availability, and plan ahead for upcoming assignments or maintenance periods.

By using this tool, you maintain full control over your fleet, ensuring that all assets are assigned appropriately and that any changes can be made quickly and efficiently.
